Code of Conduct

Gemini Science Meeting 2022

Gemini Science Meeting 2022 (GSM22) attendees come together from around the globe with a diverse set of skills, personalities, and experiences. Our goal is to maintain a positive, inclusive, welcoming, and vibrant scientific community.

We trust that attendees will behave towards each other in a way that reflects the view widely shared by this community, that diversity and civility are strengths to be celebrated and fostered.

The GSM22 will be more productive and enjoyable for everyone if a professional atmosphere prevails, meaning that all attendees may expect to:

  • be treated with courtesy, dignity and respect;
  • be free from any form of discrimination, victimization, harassment or bullying; regardless of sex, sexual orientation and/or gender identity, disability, physical appearance, age, body size, ethnicity, nationality, and religion. In particular, sexual language and imagery, sexist, racist, or otherwise exclusionary jokes are not appropriate.
  • enjoy an environment free from unwelcome behavior, inappropriate language and unsuitable imagery, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, bullying, discrimination, photography or recording without consent.
  • not experience sustained disruption of talks or other contents

This code of conduct applies to all situations during the GSM22, including official meeting events, associated social events, social media, and one-on-one interactions.

The LOC reserves the right to enforce this code of conduct and will take necessary action to keep the GSM22 a welcoming environment for all participants.
