The goal of the workshop is to explore the topic of binary black holes concerning their role in active galactic nuclei, feedback, the central structure of galaxies, observational tests for merging binaries, and so on. This topic touches on a number of problems threaded through Dave De Young’s research career, providing an occasion to remember his contributions to astrophysics.
