NOAO-related white papers submitted in response to the 2020 Decadal Survey of Astronomy and Astrophysics (Astro2020) call for “Activities, Projects, and State of the Profession Considerations” (APC).
To help us prepare for the Astro2020 Decadal Survey, NOAO invites all interested members of the US community to participate in our online NOAO Community Survey. This is a pdf of the survey text.
In early 2019, NOAO invited community members to propose topics for science white papers to be submitted to the 2020 Decadal Survey committee. This coordination hub web site is now inactive but you may browse the submissions.
This report, by Joan Najita (NOAO Chief Scientist), describes themes that emerged from the 2018 NOAO community planning workshop (see below) and offers thoughts for the coming review.

At the start of each decade, the National Academies organize a community-wide activity to recommend priorities in facility development for the next ten years. Typically, within these decadal surveys, one panel focuses on ground-based OIR development. These reports provide strategic guidance to NOAO’s program and planning.
